The Diagnostic Potential of the Human Blood Microbiome: Are We Dreaming or Awake?

Abstract: Human blood has historically been considered a sterile environment. Recently, a thriving microbiome dominated by Firmicutes, Actinobacteria, Proteobacteria, and Bacteroidetes phyla was detected in healthy blood.
