The Diagnostic Value of PSMA PET/CT in Men with Newly Diagnosed Unfavorable Intermediate-Risk Prostate Cancer

Abstract: Our objective was to determine the diagnostic value of prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) PET/CT in staging men with newly diagnosed unfavorable intermediate-risk prostate cancer (PCa). Methods: Patients with newly diagnosed unfavorable intermediate-risk PCa, in whom PSMA PET/CT was performed as a primary staging modality, were retrospectively studied. PSMA PET/CT was performed at several diagnostic centers and reported by expert nuclear medicine physicians within 2 high-volume PCa centers. A multivaria… Show more

“…Different imaging modalities such as positron emission tomography (PET) and computed tomography (CT) have high diagnostic value in the diagnosis of specific cancer types (13,14). Furthermore, the effectiveness of imaging techniques is high for specific cancer types such as prostate cancer and bone metastases (15)(16)(17). Comparison of the diagnostic performance of different imaging techniques is also frequently discussed in the literature (18)(19)(20).…”
