Abstract: Pseudomonas aeruginosa forms surface-attached communities that persist in the face of antimicrobial agents and environmental perturbation. Published work has found extracellular polysaccharide (EPS) production, regulation of motility and induction of stress response pathways as contributing to biofilm tolerance during such insults.
