Abstract: Background The characterization of pathologically enlarged mediastinal lymph nodes is clinically essential for effective disease management and accurate prognosis. Malignancy (metastases and lymphoma) and granulomatous conditions (sarcoidosis and tuberculosis) are the most common causes.
