The Disincarnate Text: Ritual Poetics in Herbert, Paul, Williams, and Levinas

Abstract: This Introduction to a special issue on “The Sacramental Text Reconsidered” provides a brief genealogy of the practice of describing texts, performances, and poetics as sacramental, eucharistic, and incarnational.
