The dynamic performance and temperature distribution of turbine generator under loss of excitation by using coupled FE analysis

Abstract: To accurately simulate the operating charcteristics of turbine generator running after loss of excitation, this paper established a field-circuit-motion direct coupled FEA model, obtained stator terminal voltage, stator current, speed and other variables waveforms after loss of excitation, as well as the distribution of rotor eddy current; through indirect magneticthermal coupling model to achieve the temperature distributed in the rotor.
