This study aims to determine the value of the arthropod diversity index in clove plantations (Syzygium aromaticum L.) in the Dampal Selatan District. This research was conducted in Lemba Harapan Village, Dampal Selatan District, Toli-Toli Regency, Central Sulawesi Province, at a coordinate point of 00.711228N 120.224933E with a coordinate point of 178 m. Sampling is carried out using light traps and pitfall traps. The data analyses used were the Diversity index Shannon Winner (H), the evenness index (E), and the richness index (R). The results showed that 865 individuals were obtained consisting of 3 classes, 8 orders, 17 families, and 19 species (morphospecies) with different functional roles. The results of the analysis of arthropod diversity in cloves showed moderate diversity, it can be seen that the diversity index value (H) of arthropods was 2.099, Evenness (E) was 0.713, and richness (R) was 2.662.

Cayenne pepper is a strategic commodity. The use of chemical insecticides to control pests has a negative impact on the agroecosystem. Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is an environmentally solution to overcome pest problems. The objectives of this study were to determine the abundance and diversity of predatory insects. Sampling was carried out in August-October 2020 in west Lombok, Indonesia, on chili fields using the IPM technique. Observations were conducted on the generative phase of chili planting and carried out using the Yellow Pan and Pitfall Trap. The population of predatory insects in chili with IPM was 1,707 individuals representing 24 species from 8 families and 5 orders. The order Hymenoptera was the most abundant (63.27%) of the total predatory insects collected, followed by Coleoptera (30.93%), and Diptera (4.63%). The diversity index of predatory species is 1.79 in land planted with chili using IPM techniques. Chili plant using IPM techniques has more abundance and divers of predatory insect species than conventional chili land. This study provides some insight into the community of predatory insects in the generative phase of the chili ecosystem and suggests that an ecological approach is needed for pest management to maintain the balance of the agroecosystem and promote biodiversity.

Hymenoptera are vital for maintaining ecological balance in rice agroecosystems. These insects provide essential ecosystem services, particularly in biological pest control, reducing the reliance on chemical pesticides. Despite their importance, the impact of different agricultural practices on Hymenoptera diversity and their ecological roles in Indonesian rice fields remains underexplored. This systematic review aims to assess the diversity and ecological functions of Hymenoptera in Indonesian rice agroecosystems, evaluate their contributions to natural pest suppression, and examine how various management practices, including organic farming and Integrated Pest Management (IPM), affect Hymenoptera populations. A comprehensive search of peer-reviewed studies from Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar was conducted. Inclusion criteria focused on studies reporting Hymenoptera species diversity, ecological roles, and the effects of different rice farming practices. Data on species composition, pest suppression rates, and management practices were synthesized and analyzed using statistical methods, including regression and ANOVA.The findings reveal significant variation in Hymenoptera diversity across regions, with organic and IPM practices supporting higher species richness than conventional methods. A strong positive correlation was found between Hymenoptera diversity and pest suppression rates, particularly during the reproductive stage of rice growth. Parasitoids and predators played dominant roles in controlling key rice pests.Conserving Hymenoptera diversity through sustainable farming practices is crucial for reducing chemical inputs, improving pest control, and enhancing the resilience of rice agroecosystems. Future agricultural strategies should integrate biodiversity-friendly practices to ensure long-term sustainability in rice production.
