The dynamics of microflora and the occurrence of phytotoxic substances in different soils with corn residues and inorganic nitrogen

Abstract: In an incubation experiment the development dynamics of bacterial and fungal communities as well as the level of phytotoxicity were analysed in sand and three soils differing in mechanical structure and amended with corn residues and mineral nitrogen.

“…At quarter concentration, L. leucocephala , L. sireceus , G. pubescens , E. cycocarpum and G. arborea promoted maize root growth. Concentrated leachates from plant residues are usually inhibitory, but the same leachate can stimulate plant growth at low concentrations ( Weyman‐Kaczmarkowa & Wojcik‐Wojtkowiak 1991). Generally, M. thoningii and P. santalinoides were less inhibitory to maize.…”

“…Actinobacteria are a main actor among bacterioplankton communities, constituting of from 30% to 70% TBN and thus have a significant role in nutrient and energy cycling in these ecosystems [49,55,56]. We noted the largest share of this group in transitional (31.8%) and freshwater (30.1%) lakes.…”
