Blast charge initiation procedures have a significant impact on both mining safety and production rates. In this study, the inventory benefit of an electric initiation system was investigated to assess its influence on both fragmentation and blast-induced damages. The WipFrag software was used to examine the size distribution and productivity of 12 small-scale blasts initiated by both nonelectric and electric detonators. All blast rounds were initiated with plain-type electric and NONEL detonators. The average burden, spacing, stemming length, and charge weight were, respectively, 0.85 m, 1.10 m, 0.66 m, and 1.1 kg. The results showed that the mesh through which 80% of the blast fragments passed for the electric blast was smaller than the mesh through which the material products from the NONEL blast passed. The results also demonstrated that the generated blast-induced ground vibration (PPV) from all blast rounds for electric blast varied from 0.4–1.2 mm/s and 80–105 dB, while that for nonelectric blast ranged from 0.05–0.2 mm/s and 72–95 dB. As a result, the electric blast initiation technique was found to produce good fragmentation, with a higher percentage of optimum fragment sizes on spec than nonelectrically initiated blasts.

In the Kagara region of Niger State, north-central Nigeria, an investigation was conducted into the gold occurrence and availability of other economic-benefit associate minerals. 39 samples from the study area were subjected to fire assay analysis and multi-element analysis to determine the gold and other mineral recovery in the case study formation. Statistical examination Methods of Pearson correlation and R-mode varimax rotated factor analysis were used to interpret the results. The analysis revealed that the recovered gold (Au) had a grade between 0.01g per tonne and 0.19g per tonne. Li was also identified as the associate mineral with the lowest quantity, with a range of 1-20% and a mean value of 8.49%, whereas Manganes displayed some skewness with a minimum value of 156 and a maximum value of 3080 ppm. According to the Pearson correlation analysis, Lithium and Magnesium have a moderately positive correlation, indicating that they come from the same source. In addition, Mo and Ni have a strong positive correlation whereas Au and Na have a weak positive correlation. The factor analysis performed on the gold and associated mineral occurrences revealed that the deposit had been significantly altered by both environmental and mineralization factors in the study area's soil. Importantly, the study demonstrates that an associated mineral with gold has substantial economic value. Considering the capital and operating costs required for the exploration and exploitation of gold-bearing soil and rock, it has been determined that the refining of other associate minerals to improve the cost-benefit ratio is highly advantageous.

Globally, dredging removes sediment from sea, river, and lake beds and moves it. Both descriptive and inferential statistical methods were used to organize and analyze the data. This study found that the conventional dredge (CD) has a higher production capacity than the transporter dredge (TD), but a higher production cost. Both traditional and transporter dredging methods cost about the same per unit volume to mine sand. TD manufacturing at Nidest Integrated Company costs and volume are slightly higher than CD in the first two months. In six months, the CD had a total cost/volume of ₦3849 for sand dredging, while the TD had ₦3268. Prime Engineering Company has a total cost/volume of ₦3121 for CD and ₦2664 for TD. Except for the CD at Nidest Company, the cost/volume drops over time. CDs cost more per volume than TDs for both suppliers. The independent t-test supports the null hypothesis, showing that CD and TD companies produce the same volume and cost. Prime Engineering Company's Pearson correlation investigation showed a substantial positive and statistically significant correlation (R = 0.909, N = 6, p-value = 0.012) between transporter and conventional dredgers. However, Nidest Company had a weak positive and non-significant connection between TD and CD (R = 0.571, N = 6, p-value = 0.236). The findings imply that TD is cheaper than CD, despite CD's higher daily manufacturing capacity.
