The educational role of the doctor‐a nutritionist's view

Abstract: Evidence linking diet with cancer is increasingly brought to public attention by the news media. To whom can concerned persons turn for reassurance and guidance? This paper argues that the family physician can perform this valuable service given appropriate training. Some ideas on training in foods and nutrition for physicians are discussed as is the type of advice suitable for anxious patients.
