“…The deformed air bubbles in the SPI-SYB and SPI-HMC samples might have strengthened the network in parallel direction. The stress arising from small cracks formed during deformation can be distributed over the complete area of the air bubble, which results in lower stress and a stronger material (Andersons et al, 2015).
