“…The evaluation of A has been done from McKinley's calculation, which uses the "bipion" amplitude of De Tollis and Verganelakis. 24 The result is consistent with previous estimates of A, which have been summarized in a separate paper describing measurements we have made of the TT~/TT + ratio for photoproduction from deuterium. 25 Summarizing the discussion, the measurements reported here provide data of improved accuracy, consistent with other experiments, and at present the interpretation is limited at least as much by theoretical uncertainty as by the experimental errors.…”

“…Once again, the effect has been attributed to a bi-pion resonance by several workers. [10][11][12][13][14] In this case, however, because of the y-3ir vertex contributing only to the isoscalar amplitudes, we expect the TT~/TT + ratio to be more sensitive to this vertex. New accurate data on the 7r~/7r + ratio, particularly along the Baldin line, was desired, to study the influence of such a multipion photon vertex and to deduce a value of the coupling constant which would fit the experimental data.…”

“…It can be concluded from this fact that in addition to the dipion effect a considerable contribution from the tripion interaction is necessary for agreement between the theory and result of our analysis. 19 ) The large variance in the low energy region in C is peculiar in a sense, since in this energy region the CGLN theory is believed to be valid and, furthermore, the correction of pion-pion interaction is usually considered to be small. For a detailed discussion of this point as well as of the contribution of dipion and tripion effects, however, more complete data on the angular distribution in the wide ranges of energy and angle are indispensable.…”
