Abstract:Acid phosphatase (ACP 1 ) is a polymorphic enzyme which catalyzes the conversion of flavinmononucleotide (FMN) to riboflavin and regulates the cellular concentration of flavin-adeninedinucleotide (FAD) and, consequently, energy metabolism. Its activity is modulated by adenosine deaminase (ADA 1 ) genotype. Aim of our work is to verify whether individuals with a high proportion of ACP 1 f isozyme and carrying ADA*2 allele, displaying the highest phosphatase activity, may have a higher life expectancy.Genomic DN… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
