“…In this study, both patients with PD and age-and gender-matched HCs demonstrated a sensorineural age-related hearing impairment, indicated by increased high-frequency auditory thresholds in both groups. Consistent with previous studies (Al Jaja et al, 2020;De Keyser et al, 2019;Di Mauro et al, 2017;Lopes et al, 2018;Richardson & Sussman, 2019), no significant differences were found between patients with PD and HCs regarding auditory thresholds, irrespective of medication condition.
