This study aims to investigate the impact of internet addiction on the self-efficacy of middle school students after the resumption of classes during the COVID-19 pandemic, and to analyze corresponding countermeasures. In the field of education, the application of self-efficacy has significant implications. Enhancing individual self-efficacy plays an important role in the prevention and treatment of internet addiction. There is a negative correlation between internet addiction and self-efficacy, meaning that the higher the level of internet addiction, the lower the self-efficacy of middle school students. Based on this, this paper proposes interventions to enhance self-efficacy and prevent internet addiction. In a supportive social and policy environment, through concerted efforts from schools and families, we can effectively address internet addiction issues amidst the backdrop of COVID-19, promoting students' physical and mental health development, enhancing their self-efficacy, reducing their dependency and obsession with the internet. Future research could further explore the specific factors influencing internet addiction and self-efficacy, conduct more detailed cross-group comparative studies, and examine the differences and correlations between different groups in terms of internet addiction and self-efficacy. We will also continue to explore the possibility of using intelligent technology to intervene in internet addiction, devising personalized treatment plans tailored to individual characteristics and needs.

Currently, social networks serve as communication tools, but the problem of excessive usage leading to addiction is on the rise. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to validate the Social Network addiction (SNA) scale in university students. The study is developed from a quantitative approach, of an exploratory and confirmatory type. The type of sampling is non-probabilistic by self-determination, and the participation of 200 students was achieved, to whom the reason for the survey was explained, who agreed to participate voluntarily. For data analysis, the instrument was validated according to Cronbach's alpha criteria and after, for the analysis, the SEM methodology was used. The most important findings show only the conformation of a two-factor model, which includes the seven most representative items, and which are feasible to analyze in this study group. The goodness-of-fit index (GFI) value is acceptable since it exceeds the theoretical threshold greater than 0.9 and the root mean square error of approximation (RMSEA) is less than 0.05. The Tucker-Lewis index (TLI) and the norm adjustment index (NFI) are greater than 0.9. Based on the results, it can be concluded that students exhibit a strong desire for connectivity. Furthermore, they invest a significant amount of time in their online networks and experience uncertainty about how to occupy their when they are not connected.

The Chinese government adjusted its national epidemic prevention and control policy in December 2022 after the worldwide declaration of COVID-19 as a common influenza. After the policy adjustment, there has been widespread infection in China, which has brought a lot of uncertainty to the lives and studies of Chinese university students. This study focused on the impact of the intolerance of uncertainty for COVID-19 (IUC) on the emotional and mental health of college students in China “Post-pandemic” age. This study examined the mediating role of difficulties in emotion regulation (DER) between IUC and mental health (MH). 1,281 university students in China were surveyed using the intolerance of uncertainty for COVID-19 scale, the difficulties in emotion regulation scale and the mental health scale. A structural equation model was used to test the hypothesis model, and it was shown that IUC had a significant negative effect on the MH of college students and a significant positive effect on the DER. DER had a significant negative effect on the MH, and DER had a complete mediation effect between IUC and MH. The findings of this study enrich our understanding of the influencing factors of mental health of university students under the background of post-epidemic in China, and provide practical reference for universities on how to prevent mental health problems under the current uncertain environment in China.
