The effect of elastic energy accumulation and the possibility of controlling the fracture process in complex structures

Abstract

-The behavior and fracture of complex structures under dynamic loading conditions were studied by computer simulation using the method of mobile cell automats. Possibility of the effect of elastic energy accumulation is demonstrated. The character of fracture in the systems studied can be considerably modified by very slightly changing initial geometry of the structure. © 2000 MAIK "Nauka/Interperiodica".
