The Effect of Electrolyte Concentration and Electric Current on the Quality of Surface Coloring on Anodized Aluminum

Abstract: The use of aluminum metal in daily life has widely used coloring techniques to enhance the aesthetic value of the metal. Aluminum anodizing process can produce porous on the metal surface. The formed porous can be used to store and hold the coloring agent to make them more durable. The research intends to observe the coloring characteristics on the aluminum surface influenced by several parameters of the anodizing process, including electrolyte concentration and electric current. In this study the current H2SO… Show more

“…However, its application range has been restricted due to corrosion phenomena [9,10]. Thus, aluminum components are often subjected to a surface anodizing process [11][12][13][14][15][16], to improve their protective properties [17,18], chemical resistance [19,20] and also their aesthetic features [21,22]. As a consequence of the health emergency, even the anodized aluminum surfaces must be modified and made naturally antibacterial, to avoid the spread of the virus without the need for continuous disinfection of public spaces.…”

“…Aluminum is one of the most used materials for the construction of surfaces and components in public spaces, thanks to an interesting combination of technological properties, such as high specific strength, thermal conductivity, workability, low density, low cost, and pleasant appearance. To overcome the obvious lack of durability, , aluminum surfaces are usually subjected to the anodizing process, which improves the protective performance of the component, , its chemical resistance, , and aesthetic features over time. , Hence, to produce inherently antimicrobial surfaces, anodized aluminum has recently been the subject of several implementation studies. …”
