The effect of foliar fertilization on the yield and generative factors of maize

Abstract: We examined the effect of different foliar fertilization products on the yield and generative factors of maize in 2015. The experiment was set in three repetitions, random blocks on the area of Tangazdaság Ltd. in Hódmezővásárely. The soil of the experiment was meadow chernozem. Soil analysis data showed that it had had good nitrogen, and very good phosphor and potassium contents. During the experiment we applied two times foliar fertilization. The year 2015 was unfavourable for com production. In 2015 the amo… Show more

“…Micronutrients are required in small quantities to directly or indirectly enhance processes such as photosynthesis, respiration, protein synthesis, and reproduction (Marschner et al, 1995). It was found that the application of foliar fertilizers as a supplementary fertilizer enhanced the biomass of maize (Jakab et al, 2016) (Balawejder et al, 2016) as it provided rapid absorption and utilization of nutrients directly in the metabolism of plant (Bindraban et al, 2015). In Ghana's maize production, foliar fertilization is a novel and under-utilized technique.…”

“…The application of zinc-sulfate solution (ZnSO 4 ) and ZnEDTA increases the growth and yield of plants [31,32]. Zn-containing foliar fertilizer enhances the maize yield and quality parameters [33,34]. The advantage of using foliar fertilizers is that they are absorbed faster than fertilizers which are applied to the soil, and their effects are faster as well.…”
