The Effect of Haemochromatosis Mutation on Iron Overload in Thalassaemia Major Patients

Abstract: BACKGROUND Haemochromatosis is a genetic form of iron overload due to a defective HFE gene. Secondary iron overload is the main complication in transfusion-dependent thalassaemia major patients.
