The Effect of Malathion on Egg Quality

Abstract: A field report requested information on the effects of Malathion an organic phosphate insecticide, on egg quality. Harding and Quigley (1956) applied Malathion dust to litter at various rates and found that it did not affect hatchability and residues were not detected in eggs. Gaafar and Turk (1956) dusted three-week-old chicks for four successive weeks with this same compound and they found it did not affect feed intake and no signs of toxicity were observed.
