The Effect of Nano Filler Al2O3 on (PEO+KClO4) Based Polymer Electrolyte Gas Sensors

Abstract: Abstract-Growth of solid polymer electrolytes is driven by their tremendous technological applications. Therefore, solid-state polymer electrolyte have been prepared by solutioncasting method by using poly (ethylene oxide) (PEO), KClO 4 salt and Nano filler Al 2 O 3 . The complexation of poly (ethylene oxide) (PEO), KClO4and Al2O3 have been studied by using X-ray diffraction (XRD), IR and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Solid state electrochemical carbon monoxide gas sensors have been fabricated by us… Show more

“…The absorption peaks at 1665 cm −1 , 1441 cm −1 , 2999 cm −1 and 1065 cm −1 are related to C=C stretching, C-H bending (medium), strong N-H stretching and C-O stretching bonds respectively [27]. All the peaks have been shifted slightly [28] with loading of PVdF and a significant shift was observed for PPA3, which indicate the complexation of blend polymer with AgNO 3 . These observations in the FTIR spectra specifically indicates the variations in the polymer-polymer associations as well as conjugated PMMA and PVDF chain frameworks developed by coordination among ion and dipole in these electrolyte films.…”

“…As a result of this phase change, the conductivity shows an abrupt boost at the melting point. The increase in conductivity with temperature is interpreted as a hopping mechanism between coordinating sites, local structural relaxations and segmental motions of polymer [20]. As the amorphous region gradually increases and the sensitivity of the gas sensor augmented with temperature.…”
