The Effect of Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy on ER, PR and HER-2 Expression in Breast Cancer

Abstract: Objective: Through comparativing the change of the ER, PR and HER-2 expression in tumor tissue before and after neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) in locally advanced breast cancer patient, to discuss whether there is influence for NACon ER, PR, HER-2 expression for breast cancer. Also, the relationship of ER, PR, HER-2 and chemosensitivity is also discussed. Methods: The expressions of ER, PR and HER2 in paraffin sections of breast cancer tissues from 51 patients before and after NAC were detected by immunohistoc… Show more

“…HER2 positivity may be lost by NAC in HER2‐positive BC 40 or the expression of the HER2 receptor may show a decrease 41 after NAC. Moreover, no significant change in ER, PgR or HER2 status may also occur 42 . it is recommended to re‐examine the status of the biomarkers to make targeted adjuvant therapies and better prognosis assessment in HBC 38,40,41 .…”

“…Moreover, no significant change in ER, PgR or HER2 status may also occur. 42 it is recommended to reexamine the status of the biomarkers to make targeted adjuvant therapies and better prognosis assessment in HBC. 38,40,41 In this study, although a decrease in Ki-67 and HER2 expression and an increase in ER expression were observed after NAC in both treatment groups, these changes were not statistically significant (Figure 3).…”
