The effect of nonanalyticities in coupling potentials on transition probabilities in two-level systems

Abstract

Arguments are presented disputing the contention of Vitinov that the slow rate of decline of transition probabilities in two-level systems coupled by nonanalytic functions of time arises from the lack of smoothness of the potential.
