The Effect of Organic Amendments and Minerals on Increasing Soil Fertility (A review )

Ali Abd ALameer Hasan,
Imad Ali Aubied,
Duraid K. A. Al-Taey

Abstract: Sustainable agriculture emphasizes the maintenance and improvement of soil, water, and biodiversity reserves. Cover cropping, conservation tillage, and agroforestry are all examples of soil conservation practices that serve to reduce soil erosion, preserve soil fertility, and enhance soil health. Organic additions and minerals can help the soil produce grapes. Organic fertilizers and minerals can boost grape soil productivity. Organic additions improve physical, chemical, and biological soil properties. These … Show more

“…The combination of fertilizers consisting of 2g of urea, 6g of DAB, and 4g of potassium sulphate contributes to the enhancement of vegetative, root, and chemical growth characteristics. This improvement is attributed to the role of nitrogen in chemical fertilization, by contributing to the formation of RNA and DNA, the enzymes NAD and NADP, and participating in the photosynthesis process [29,30,31,32]. The rapid movement of nitrogen within the plant, moving from older leaves to newer leaves, promotes vegetative growth.…”

“…Potassium, an indispensable element, executes critical functions in numerous critical processes. It is continuously depleting as a result of the extended period of time since this substance was introduced to Iraqi soil [10,11]. [12] An adequate nutritional balance of NPK components is the result of the vital functions this food conducts in supporting plant growth and development.…”

“…Following carbon, nitrogen is the most vital element for plants due to its status as a constituent of protein and chlorophyll, as well as its participation in numerous metabolic processes. Moreover, nitrogen plays a significant role in promoting vegetative growth and guarantees optimal growth rates for fruits and flowers [7][8][9] Moreover, reduced nitrogen levels will result in diminished plant quality and productivity. Phosphorus, an essential constituent of plant cells that performs dual functions including leaf development and cell mitosis, ranks as the second most significant element influencing plant growth [10,11].…”
