“…Rapid recovery of the fluorescence intensity revealed the formation of a well-connected two-dimensional solid-SLB when the SLB was formed upon temperature increase in a stepwise fashion from 23 °C to 27 °C, 34 °C, and finally 37 °C (Figure ). Notably, a lack of DiD fluorescence recovery at 23 °C and 27 °C was observed, suggesting the formation of a layer consisting of unruptured liposomes , (Figure a,b, green and purple traces), and a “phase transition” to an SLB occurred only upon further heating to 34 and 37 °C (Figure a,b, red and blue traces, respectively). Attempts at forming an SLB on ITO-coated surfaces directly at 37 °C were unsuccessful.…”

“…To stably organize phospholipid molecules on a gold substrate, phosphatidylcholine derivatives have been synthesized by introducing thiol or sulfide bonds at the ends of the hydrophobic moieties. 116,117 Gold substrates are used primarily for bioanalysis devices, such as quartz crystal microbalances (QCMs), surface plasmon resonators (SPRs), and other electrodes. 118,119 Phospholipid molecules form a spontaneously organized structure on a gold surface as a monolayer.…”

“…Shen et al designed a cysteine-polyethylene glycol stearate conjugate as illustrated in Table 2 and prepared NLC with this thiolated excipient by a fusion-emulsification method.
