The Effect of Transformer Leakage Inductance on the Steady State Performance of Push-pull based Converter with Continuous Current

Abstract: As a result of the advantages such as high efficiency, continuous current and high stability margin, push-pull converter with continuous current (PPCWCC) is competitive for battery discharge regulator (BDR) which plays an important role in power conditioning unit (PCU).Leakage inductance yields current spike in low-ripple current of PPCWCCs. The operating modes are added due to leakage inductance. Therefore the steady state performance is affected, which is embodied in the spike of low-ripple current. PPCWCCs … Show more

“…That means the controller will be unstable when G vd has right half plane (RHP) zeroes, for example, boost and Superboost [16]. Hence this method is suitable for the converter whose transfer function G vd has no RHP zeroes, for example, Superbuck [17][18][19], HE-Boost and Weinberg [20,21].…”

“…The use of T1M may be a good starting point for the preliminary design of the converter and its control loops, but often leads to considerable discrepancies with actual behavior. This is mainly due to the strong influence of the converter's non-idealities with respect to its operating conditions, power and switching frequency [18].…”

“…Ejea-Marti J. established a small signal model based on peak current control and analyzed stability under a small duty cycle [4]- [6]. Chen analyzed the effect of leakage inductance on the steady-state performance of NIWC [7]. However, the small signal model and controller design of parallel NIWC systems have not been analyzed to date.…”
