The Effect of Transportation Disruptions on Cold Chain Sustainability

Nowadays, there is a makeshift towards the concept of sustainability in the walks of business ventures. Food industries are struggling to cater the exponential population surge, across the globe. Hence to nurture the masses, Food Supply Chains (FSC) needs to relook their operational strategies for ensuring effective and efficient operations. In continuation to the same, various lean, six sigma theory-based fundamentals under aegis of sustainability need to be accumulated in the Food Supply Chain Performance Systems (FSCPS). But adoption of these theories confronts multiple issues which need to be investigated for the smooth adoption of these practices. To tackle the same presented work clusters the various encumbering concerns associated with the smooth adoption of these fundamentals in the dynamics of the FSCPS. Furthermore, to enrich the outcomes of the study, empirical analysis by implying the fundamentals of the neutrosophic theory is exercised. Implications of the presented work can enrich the decisional framework, policymakers to streamline the operating procedurals of FSC in compliance with the sustainability based lean six sigma practices.

Level of Implementation of GMP and SSOP in SMEs Wet Noodle Production Process with Gap Analysis Tools

The main characteristics of wet noodle products that determine the quality and limits of food safety are the relatively short shelf life of wet noodle products, 10-12 hours at room temperature due to their high-water content, and the absence of harmful substances such as formalin and boric acid. To ensure that the product is of high quality and safe for consumers, the production process must have proper control to manage the shelf life and minimize any potential risks. This study aims to analyze the level of application of the basic feasibility of GMP and SSOP for wet noodle production. This research is a quantitative descriptive study using survey methods in collecting data through observation and interviews with questionnaires through case studies in wet noodle producers SMEs and analyzed by gap analysis tools. The percentage calculation using gap analysis tools for each GMP and SSOP aspect shows that the level of compliance is 69% for the GMP aspect and 75% for the SSOP aspect. Compliance with GMP aspects is included in category 2 (50% -74%), so it can be concluded that the program GMP on SMEs still needs improvement to comply with GMP regulations. The results show that the SSOP aspect of GMP compliance with a score of 75% falling into category 1 (75% -100%), indicated that the SSOP program on SMEs is already in compliance with SSOP requirement.

Circular Economy Reinforcement to Diminish GHG Emissions: A grey DEMATEL Approach

GHG emissions cause climate change and environmental degradation. The proposed research examines the role of CE in reducing GHG emissions to achieve sustainable goals and an evergreen future by recirculating materials and products. The present work identified thirteen essential CE strategies from a literature review and expert perspective to reduce GHG emissions in India's rubber industry. To provide a comprehensive explanation of the problem, the identified CE strategies were ranked by importance and categorised using the grey DEMATEL (G-DEMATEL) approach. The study offers managers and policymakers a work plan to reduce the carbon footprint.
