“…However, there are situations where fluids flow past more than two cylinders in different arrangements (Zdravkovich, 1987); for instance, the case of the shell and tube heat exchanger, oil and gas pipelines and the blades of multistage turbo-machines. Therefore, a few numerical and experimental works have increased the degree of complexity by studying the fluid flow over three cylinders (Bao et al , 2010; Fan et al , 2021a; Gu and Sun, 2001; Han et al , 2013; Harichandan and Roy, 2010; Kang, 2004; Pouryoussefi et al , 2011; Sumner et al , 1999; Zhang and Zhou, 2001; Zhou, 2003). In this case, several parameters can influence the flow characteristics such as the Reynolds number (Han et al , 2013; Harichandan and Roy, 2010), the gap spacing between two adjacent cylinders (Fan et al , 2021a; Sumner et al , 1999; Zhou, 2003) and the geometrical arrangement of the cylinders such as side-by-side (Kang, 2004; Sumner et al , 1999), tandem (Fan et al , 2021a; Han et al , 2013) and triangular arrangements (Bao et al , 2010; Gu and Sun, 2001; Pouryoussefi et al , 2011).…”
