This research is a descriptive research with a quantitative approach that aims to determine the students’ ability to apply physics concepts in junior high school by using environmental-based worksheets. The sample of this research were 31 students of class VIIIA SMP Negeri 1 Kolaka, taken by using purposive sampling method. This research was carried out in 6 meetings with the subject matter of light and optical instruments. Data collection was conducted by using observation, evaluation, and tests at the end of each teaching cycle; analyze the data through the results of quantitative analysis. The results showed that in the light material, the average score of students' application of physics concepts was 19 out of a total of 30 questions with a high percentage of students belonging to 25.80%, while for optical instruments, the average score of students' physics concept application was 21. from a total of 30 questions with a high percentage of students, 54.8%. Thus, it can be concluded that the provision of environmental-based worksheets can improve the ability of students to apply physics concepts on class VIIIA of SMP Negeri 1 Kolaka.

Objective: This study aims to produce a science learning tool validity using the guided inquiry model to improve the creative thinking skills of 8th-grade students. This research is descriptive and quantitative. Method: The research method is developed with Four-D (4D) stages. This research will validate the learning tool consisting of a syllabus, lesson plans, student worksheets, teaching materials, and student creative thinking ability test sheets. Moreover, the object of this study is the learning device's validity level. The data analysis technique was qualitative and descriptive based on assessing the three validators. Results: The results of the three validators concluded that the syllabus has an average score of 3.55 with valid criteria, and the lesson plan with an average score of 3.70. with valid criteria. Student worksheets have an average score of 3.49 with good standards, student teaching materials have an average score of 3.49 with very proper measures, and student teaching materials have an average score of 3.67 with valid criteria. The student's creative thinking ability test sheet has an average score of 3.64 with a correct category. Thus, the learning tools developed can be used in the learning process to improve students' creative thinking skills. Novelty: The use of guided inquiry learning tools is an effective tool in the learning process to improve students' creative thinking skills with the hope that this learning experience will be applied in dealing with various problems in everyday life.

What Teachers Need in Implementing Environmental-Based Learning in The Elementary School

Much research explained that environmental-based learning contributes significantly to learning quality, but many teachers have not implemented it in the learning process yet. Therefore, this study aimed to describe what teachers need in the implementation of environmental-based learning in the learning process in elementary schools. This study used a quantitative and qualitative design that involved 16 teachers from four elementary schools as research participants. The research data, in the form of nominal data, was collected through a questionnaire, document analysis, and checklist, while verbal data about the problem in implementing environmental-based learning by interview. Nominal data were analyzed by simple statistical analysis techniques, while verbal data was analyzed by following the steps: reduction, classification, categorization, presentation, interpretation, and conclusion. The findings showed that in implementing environmental-based learning, teachers faced many problems caused by internal and external factors, which include the lack of teachers' experience, unavailable sources of information and examples as references, media and facilities available in schools, and policy factors. Teachers needed technical guidelines, workshops/training, and learning media of the learning model to improve their learning. These findings are significant as a basis for policy-making in increasing the learning quality. In addition, these findings lead to an analysis of school needs in developing learning quality.
