Abstract:This paper deals with the aerodynamic interference between two vehicles which are running in close proximity and are subjected to crosswind. Measurements of the aerodynamic drag, side force and yawing moment were performed at different wind angles and longitudinal and lateral distances between two vehicles. In crosswind, extreme proximity between the vehicles ahead and behind provides several peaks of aerodynamic drag, side force and yawing moment acting on the vehicles. When one vehicle passes the other one i… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
