Abstract: Evidence is reviewed demonstrating the high level of drug and alcohol abuse and marital disharmony among physicians andThe anaesthetist, like all physicians, is subjected daily to a multiplicity of stress factors affecting both his (or her) ability to provide medical care and his own health and well-being.
