“…Nine meta-analyses on fenugreek in MetS or associated conditions have been published in the last ten years [189][190][191][192][193][194][195][196][197]. All of those that assessed effects on blood glucose found a benefit, but concerns were raised about the quality of the clinical trials.…”

“…All of those that assessed effects on blood glucose found a benefit, but concerns were raised about the quality of the clinical trials. A review of fenugreek in blood pressure found a dose-dependent effect, with doses greater than 15 g/day for longer than 12 weeks being effective [192]. Neelakantan et al also found that dose impacted the effect of fenugreek on glycaemia, with doses higher than 5 g being effective [189].…”

“…A recent meta‐analysis of six RCT ( N = 373 participants with prediabetes, metabolic syndrome, or T2D as well as healthy participants) indicated that fenugreek seed supplementation significantly reduced systolic blood pressure, but not diastolic blood pressure. However, subgroup analyses showed that fenugreek seeds administered in dosages ≥15 g/day and durations ≤12 weeks significantly lowered both systolic and diastolic blood pressure (Amini et al., 2023). Similarly, a study conducted with 60 hypertensive participants divided into treatment and control groups showed that the oral administration of sprouted fenugreek seeds for 2 months (dosage not specified) resulted in a significant decrease in systolic blood pressure with no significant change in diastolic pressure (Prasath et al., 2021).…”

“…Fenugreek Seed (FS) exhibits a significant antihypertensive effect. Supplementation with FS, especially in dosages ≥ 15 g/day and durations ≤ 12 weeks, might play a role in reducing SBP, but not DBP [71]. Consumption of FS through oral administration pre-prandially causes a significant decrease in SBP.…”
