“…According to Chiesa and Serretti (2011), different kinds of attention develop at different stages of MCBT, firstly concentrative attention, which emphasises self‐focusing, and then receptive attention, which means attending to the entire experience with an open mind. As our participants were initially meditation‐naïve, the 8‐week MCBT is too short to cultivate receptive attention and only makes them more concentrated on self‐feelings while ignoring extraneous stimuli (Zhu et al, 2021).
