The research aimed to identify the effectiveness of collaborative reading strategy in teaching English to develop oral reading Fluency and reading comprehension skills of the Third Intermediate Female Students. To achieve the research objective, the researcher used the quasi-experimental method design was used. The researcher prepared a note card of oral reading fluency (rubric), and test of reading comprehension skill. The sample consisted of (66) female students which was randomly selected of third-grade intermediate students from The Twenty-fifth middle school in Khamis Mushait governorate affiliated to the General Administration of Education in the Asir region . The sample was divided to equivalent two groups, one of them represented the experimental group consisted of (33) students and studied the selected units using collaborative reading strategy, and the controlled group consisted of (33) students studied the selected units in the usual way, during the second semester of the academic year 1441-1442 AH. The results of the research revealed that there are statistically significant differences at the level (0.05) between the average grades of the experimental group and the control group in the post application of a note card of oral reading fluency (rubric), and the test of reading comprehension skills in favor of the experimental group. The results also revealed that there was a positive effect of using the Collaborative reading strategy on the development of oral reading fluency and reading comprehension skills in the light of the results, the researcher made some suggestions and recommendations.
