The Encountered Problems and Solutions in the Development of Coal Mine Rescue Robot

Abstract: Based on the various problems in the process of coal robot applications, from three-dimensional analysis of the key technology, market demand, and policy regulations and standardization, the paper reviews the use of carbon fiber material, elastic material of traditional surface spraying and integral casting technology to realize lightweight robot, by using the dual redundant design to improve the reliability of the rescue robot CPU, through the functions of voice recognition obstacle sensor, gas sensor acquisi… Show more

“…To enable a CMRR to pass along the roadway smoothly, its structure should be compact and its size should be reduced as much as possible. For instance, the ANDROS Wolverine robot is large, and it is inconvenient to move along a roadway, so its rescue ability is not good [10]. Consequently, in the installation of the binocular camera, space limitations must be considered.…”

“…A rescue robot is a robot that has been designed for the purpose of rescuing people or facilitating rescue missions which can be in several modes, shapes or formats. For instance, robotic water rescue system, which is a four-foot, 25-pound remote-controlled robot, used as a hybrid flotation buoy-lifeboat called the EMILY (Emergency Integrated Lifesaving Lanyard) was co-developed by the U.S. Office of Naval Research, and Hydronalix an Arizona based company [17]. In 2016, during the European migrant crisis, the robot was used to rescue hundreds of asylum seekers off the coast of Greece.…”

“…Three robots were deployed following the accident, but they were all destroyed following a second explosion. A few months after, the Western Australia Water Service Company succeeded in getting video data of the mine's roadway, to help the police to determine whether the mine can enter the recovery stage [17].…”
