The Essence of Hippocrates

Abstract: Twelve of the best-noted doctors, mainly from the Edo Period (the golden age of Kampo in Japan), were selected for a discussion of how they taught their apprentices about attitudes towards patients when examining and treating. This showed that these excellent doctors had, as a matter of course, the knowledge and techniques to cure their patients : what's more, they were sincere as well as understanding of their patients' minds.
