Civic education is a form of the citizen's social contract with the state, as well as binding the minds, feelings, and bodies of citizens to the state. The state provides protection for citizens, and citizens give the loyalty to the state by carrying out the values of national defense character. However, in practice, the learning model used in civic education has not been fully holistic in developing student's national defense character. The purpose of this article is to examine the effect of using Project Citizen Digital on the national defense character of students in Civic Education. This the new research is because previous research developed Project Citizen Digital for civic literacy. The approach used in this research is quantitative to measure the Implement and Evaluate stages of using the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate) after the development of the Project Citizen Digital Application. Data collection techniques used questionnaires. Meanwhile, the data analysis used one group pretest-posttest on 80 students from the Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia due to the limited ability of the Project Citizen Digital Application. The results of the research show that there are differences in student's character of national defense before and after the implementation of the Project Citizen Digital with an average difference of 2.95 percent.

Parte de la fundamentación actual de la ética deriva de las teorías y de las escuelas clásicas, particularmente occidentales y de base racionalistas, que se han preocupado por el sentido del buen vivir, incluso hasta normalizarlo. En este artículo se da cuenta del sentido en que el enfoque de las capacidades de Nussbaum puede contribuir a ampliar una fundamentación de la ética contemporánea, usando la fenomenología hermenéutica como ruta y base metodológica, dado que facilita y orienta la interpretación y construcción del discurso. Para lo anterior, primero se describe qué integra el enfoque de las capacidades en Nussbaum; segundo, se tematiza cuál es la comprensión de Nussbaum respecto al ser humano; tercero, se muestra cómo el enfoque de las capacidades difiere de las teorías éticas tradicionales, como la ética de la virtud, el utilitarismo y la deontología; y finalmente, se analiza en qué sentido se configura el desarrollo de la capacidad como fundamento de la dignidad. Se concluye que el enfoque de capacidades, además de posibilitar un espacio en el que podamos hacer juicios interculturales sobre los diversos modos de vida, ofrece alternativas de debate, por ejemplo, al considerar la ética frente a la “discapacidad” como uno de los asuntos de especial interés para la bioética.

The prospects of a solution to the Cyprus issue have led to a revived interest in the fate of Famagusta, which, after more than 40 years of abandonment due to the Turkish invasion of Cyprus, has turned into a ghost city and a strong symbol both of the island’s division and the prospect of reunification. Hands-on-Famagusta, an architectural project (2015a) by a bi-communal team (Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots) aiming to explore prospects of reunifying the city, also becomes important through its trilingual website (English-Greek-Turkish). More specifically, the involvement of various translation agents co-shaped the translation product and led to the creation of what will be termed a polyphonic translation (following Bakhtin 1986), as this trilingual output allowed not merely for a simple coexistence of conflicting discourses, but for a quasi-interaction, aiming at highlighting them as constituting elements of a potential cohabitation of Famagusta. All parties involved negotiated their memory and bypassed officially established language and translation policies and challenged dominant discourses of both sides. Their action prompts new ways of thinking about translation politics in terms of (a) citizens emerging as active agents of translation because, through or despite their memories and in contrast to official power centers, and (b) the reevaluation of “accuracy” and “sameness” in particularly polyphonic translation situations, where opposing discourses converge to necessary “amnesia.”
