The European Photovoltaic Technology Platform

Abstract: The European Photovoltaic Technology Platform is one of the European Technology Platforms, a new instrument proposed by the European Commission. European Technology Platforms (ETPs) are a mechanism to bring together all interested stakeholders to develop a long-term vision to address a specific challenge, create a coherent, dynamic strategy to achieve that vision and steer the implementation of an action plan to deliver agreed programmes of activities and optimise the benefits for all parties. The European Pho… Show more

“…As projects were required to be completed by the end of this year the United States installed 15GW. [25][26][27], In 2017 there was a uncertainty in demand as IHS Markit anticipates a 3GW decline, which was mainly in the utility-scale segment. Year-over-year in 2016, there was a shrunk in the Japan´s PV demand by 23% and there was limited access to grid projects.…”

“…In recent years, photovoltaic power generation develops rapidly, photovoltaic component cost is lower and lower, the cost of PV (photovoltaic grid connected system) is 5 €/Wp in the scope of Europe in 2004, It can be expected that by 2020 the cost will be less than 1 €/Wp, by 2030 it will be less than 0.5 €/Wp [1]. As of the end of 2007, the world solar energy battery cumulative installed capacity had reached 12300 MW.…”
