The European Sero-Epidemiology Network (ESEN) was established to coordinate and harmonize the serological surveillance of immunity to several vaccine preventable diseases including measles [7]. We present the standardized results of national serological surveys from seven Western European countries performed with comparable designs, providing a unique opportunity not only to compare the serological and epidemiological impact of a variety of measles vaccination schedules and coverage levels, but also to assess progress towards measles control and elimination in Western Europe.…”
