The history of the tsunami that hit Kuala Muda, Kedah in 2004 had negatively impact to local residents including death, loss of property and trauma. The number of fatalities were 17 people and 32 people were injured. After the disaster, there were no guidelines and evacuation plans issued by any parties to guide local residents on how to survive the disaster. Therefore, the implementation of this simulation exercise is a preparation for tsunami disaster relief for local residents. This study uses participant observation method and questionnaire by applying level 1 (reaction) and level 2 (learning) from Kirkpatrick Evaluation Model. A total of 723 respondents consisted 62 teachers and 661 students of SMK Kuala Muda were selected based on purposive sampling method. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis and the Pearson correlation. The results showed the highest mean score for reaction was the item of media/LCD. For learning, item of knowledge recorded a higher mean score than the item of skills and attitude. The results of the correlation test on the relationship between reaction and learning showed a significant and moderate relationship. The implications of the study are to increase the resilience of the local residents to cope with any possible disaster that may happen in this area.

and her behaviors worsened, we were finally given a diagnosis: Alzheimer's disease. I did not know at the time the extent to which her diagnosis would impact me, the rest of my childhood, and how I learned to understand caregiving. From the onset of the disease to the final days, I watched as my mother took care of my grandmother day in and day out. My mother would work all day at her job, come home and make dinner for me, and then spend the rest of her evening taking care of my grandmother. Alzheimer's is not a disease that simply impacts the person, but the persons' family, friends, and communities but most importantly, it is the caregiver that is often impacted the most. These early experiences taught me that the caregiving journey could be difficult and arduous, so I want to acknowledge the work of caregivers for persons with Alzheimer's disease. In particular, I would like to say thank you to three caregivers that have taught me so much along the way-Margie, Zelda, and Doris. I would also like to thank my committee. Each of you has given me the support that I needed along the way. Annatjie, you are the MENTOR. I am not sure I would have made it without your help and encouragement. You are so brilliant and amazing, and I am v so thankful for all the guidance you have given me through this journey. Joseph, words cannot express how grateful I am for you! Among the basic medical sciences, anatomy and physiology (anatomy & physiology) is a fundamental subject for students majoring in nursing. Due to its diversity and difficulty, nursing students experience stress when studying it. Previous graduates generally presented lower achievements in anatomy & physiology than in other nursing‐related subjects in the National Council Licensure Examination‐Registered Nurse, indicating that anatomy & physiology education requires improvement. Accordingly, we examined the impact of innovative teaching on students' motivation and performance when learning anatomy & physiology through a quasi‐experimental pre‐/post‐test design. For innovative teaching, we used the novel interactive audio human organ model, followed by team‐based learning. The participants were 200 lower‐grade students in the nursing department of a junior college in Taiwan, divided into two groups receiving innovative teaching (experimental group) or traditional teaching (control group). Questionnaire surveys were administered, and the collected data were statistically analyzed. The innovative teaching in anatomy & physiology improved learning motivation, especially in terms of affect, executive volition, and learning performance. The essential components of learning motivation, such as value, expectation, affect, and executive volition, were positively correlated with the reaction levels of learning performance. Regarding the improvement in academic performance, the experimental group performed significantly better than the control group. The use of innovative teaching in class enhances students' learning motivation and learning performance when studying anatomy & physiology. Interactive teaching aids enhance the enjoyment of learning anatomy & physiology while facilitating in‐depth exploration of the human organs and systems.
