The Evaluation of Vehicle Vibrations Excited with a Test Plate during Technical Inspection of Vehicle Suspension

Abstract: The main aim of this article is to present the possibility of assessing the intensity of the impact of vibrations on vehicle users. During vehicle operation, many factors can have impacts on changes in the characteristics of car suspension, which can affect passenger comfort. This paper presents the results obtained from calculations based on a mathematical model, as well as from measurements during laboratory tests. The tests were performed on vehicles that differed in characteristics of damping suspension. T… Show more

“…When designing the controller, the primary requirement lies in ride comfort, which is assessed through sprung mass acceleration. Providing comfort requires dampening the vibrations to which passengers are subjected [49]. External factors, such as road disturbances, can cause a lack of contact between the tires and the road.…”

“…The study also allowed a measurement technique that allows decoupling acceleration in turns from those due to short-term disturbances. Other theoretical models and measurement techniques for the determination of accelerations and vibrations occurring in machines subjected to high forces are presented in [36][37][38][39][40][41][42].…”
