Background: Intrauterine Fetal Death (IUFD) is the death of the fetus in the womb that causes the mother to feel traumatized and at risk of becoming anxious or depressed. IUFD is usually included in the stillbirth rate. The number of stillbirths in 2017 in Indonesia is around 13/1.000 live births. Objective: To evaluate and give initial support for anxiety and depression in maternal condition due to her IUFD experience. Methods: Evaluated case by questionnaire of HARS for assessing the level of maternal anxiety and HDRS questionnaire for determining the depression of maternal. Results: Total score of HARS is 13 and the HDRS score is 12, which categories of the mother are mild anxiety and mild depression. Conclusion: Early detection can help the maternal psychological problem in the early phase. As long as the case can still be resolved with non-pharmacology, there is no need for pharmacology if the management of maternal acceptance comes from counseling and family support is sufficient and successful. This case, of course, requires support and assistance from a psychiatrist or psychologist if it has entered the moderate/severe category. Keywords: anxiety, depression, IUFD.

During pregnancy, the fetal heart rate is a picture of the well-being of the fetus in the womb. The mother's position affects the results of the assessment when taking measurements of the fetal heart rate. The purpose of this study is to determine the accuracy of the measurement of fetal well-being based on the position of pregnant women. This type of research is analytic observational in Wajo Health Center, Katobengke Health Center, and Sulaa Health Center, from April - August 2019. The population in this study were all pregnant women registered in the KIA book. The research sample consisted of 60 respondents using inclusion criteria. The data analysis uses univariate analysis. The results showed there were differences in the value of the fetal heart rate measurements for each position. The average value (min-max) of DJJ measurement with the lying position (supine) 128-158 times per-minute, mean value 138.81 times per-minute; sitting position 124-158 times per-minute, mean value 143.41 times per-minute; standing position 126-159 times per-minute, mean value 145.58 times per minute. In a sitting and lying position, the resulting heart rate is in the normal range of 120-140 times per-minute; in a standing position, the heart rate obtained 150-160 times per-minute has the potential for tachycardia. The conclusion of this study is that the position of pregnant women affects the results of fetal heart rate measurement and the good position of the FHR measurement when lying on her back

Background: Intrauterine foetal death (IUFD) is a traumatic event leading to substantial grief reactions with a variety of experiences in an expectant woman. After delivery, these experiences have shown to impact the mother’s psychological well-being, where she experiences post-traumatic stress, sadness, anxiety and depression. The psychosomatic experiences before labour commenced are not known.Objectives: This study explored the psychosomatic (mind–body connection) experiences of women who had an IUFD before labour commenced in rural areas of Limpopo province, South Africa.Method: A qualitative approach with an explorative descriptive design was carried out among all 10 consented participants who were selected using a purposive sampling technique. The sample consisted of women who delivered an IUFD as reflected by the hospital register from the selected hospitals. Data were collected at the participants’ homes through in-depth individual interviews guided by one open-ended central question as follows, ‘Please share with me your experiences of IUFD before you went into labour’, and analysed using Tesch’s open coding method.Results: Two themes reflecting the psychosomatic (mind–body connection) experiences of women who had an IUFD emerged from the analysis. The themes are danger alerts and emotional responses.Conclusion: This qualitative study revealed that women could relate a lack of or decreased foetal movement as the danger alert or warning sign that the baby was in danger before labour commenced. Upon noticing that something was wrong with the baby, a message was sent to the women’s minds, which equally affected and activated their emotional dimensions. An investigation regarding the kind of support needed by women after being informed of an IUFD is recommended.
