The Exploration and Recognition of Stimulated Reservoir Volume for Shale Gas in Sichuan Basin - Taking Well W201 as an Example

Abstract: In view of the formation characteristics of the Qiongzhusi formation in Sichuan Basin and using the Stimulated Reservoir Volume (SRV) concept for reference, fracturing design of well W201 is completed and field tests are successfully conducted. Through evaluation and analysis of the sand fracturing data and by combining some practical experience of the shale gas multistage fracturing in North America, the difference between SRV in shale gas and traditional fracturing is proposed and inspirations is obtained, r… Show more

“…However, Ti, V, and Cr are all derived from terrigenous debris. Therefore, the content of terrigenous SiO 2 in mineral components is significantly positively correlated with TiO 2 , V 2 O 5 , and Cr 2 O 3 , while the content of biogenic SiO 2 is significantly negatively correlated [50] Biogenic siliceous shale components, usually derived from biological skeletons, can amplify the fracturing by increasing rock brittleness and also direct organic matter accumulation. An intersection analysis of the silicon content and TOC in the cores of seven evaluation wells in the study area was conducted, and the silicon content showed a positive correlation with TOC (Figure 6).…”
