“…Indeed, lung irradiation induces the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines; for example, interleukin (IL-6) levels were significantly higher during and after thoracic irradiation therapy in lung cancer patients who developed RP [30, 31], whereas let-7 miRNA overexpression significantly reduced IL-6 expression.
