“…Previous findings have demonstrated that the ethanol extract of DCS exhibited a higher yield and greater pharmacological activities, as compared to the water extract ( Ospondpant et al, 2022 ; Ospondpant et al, 2023 ). To develop a promising BHP of DCS and AEF, various ratios of DCS and AEF ethanol extracts were conducted to determine the optimal level of synergism.…”

“…In this study, we have examined the potential synergistic interactions of two botanical drugs in a specific ratio deriving from BHP of nine botanical drugs. Having previous studies of the multifunctional roles of DCS in neuroprotection and anti-inflammation ( Ospondpant et al, 2022 ; Ospondpant et al, 2023 ), BHP of DCS with eight other botanical drugs was investigated. Firstly, our findings revealed that BHP of DCS and AEF at 1:1 w/w ratio demonstrated an optimal enhancement of activities in promoting neuronal differentiation and reducing Aβ fibril formation.…”

“…In LPS-activated microglia, D. cochinchinensis stemwood extract reduced the neuroinflammatory response by reducing pro-inflammatory factors and inhibiting the activation of p38, JNK, and Akt and by reducing the gene expressions of IL-1β, TNF-α, and iNOS. Additionally, D. cochinchinensis stemwood extract could decrease excessive phagocytosis of beads and Aβ fibrils in activated microglia ( Ospondpant et al, 2023 ). Dracaena cochinchinensis stemwood extract can also prevent the formation of Aβ fibrils, protecting against Aβ-mediated cell damage and stimulating neural differentiation ( Ospondpant et al, 2022 ).…”
