The study aimed to ascertain Nigerian secondary school teachers' and parents' perspectives in relation to barriers to career transitioning (CT) of students with hearing impairments (HI). This study adopted a cross-sectional survey research design to investigate the perspectives of 36 schoolteachers and 36 parents of students with hearing impairments in Nigeria. Of the total participants, 44.4% were males, 55.6% were females, 56.9% resided in rural areas, and 43.1% resided in urban areas. The study findings show that both teachers and parents perceive moderate barriers to CT students with HI. Parents tend to see these barriers as more significant compared to teachers. The study also found that there were no significant differences in perspectives based on participants' gender or location, regarding the barriers faced by students with HI during CT. These findings could help shape future CT programs and policy changes to address the concerns of both teachers and parents and create a more supportive school context for students with HI during CT.
