Abstract:Imaging science has approached subjective image quality (IQ) as a perceptual phenomenon, with an emphasis on thresholds of defects. The paradigmatic design of subjective IQ estimation, the two-alternative forced-choice (2AFC) method, however, requires viewers to make decisions.
