In the 1980s, T. faurii was found in the Kyiv reservoir (Dnieper River), where it was defined as Talassiosira lacustrus (Genkal and Shcherbak, 1987;Genkal et al, 2007), and in the Tisza River, Hungary (Kiss et al, 1984).
