The FMM Approach to Analyze Biomedical Signals: Theory, Software, Applications and Future

Abstract: Oscillatory systems arise in the different biological and medical fields. Mathematical and statistical approaches are fundamental to deal with these processes. The Frequency Modulated Mobiüs approach (FMM), reviewed in this paper, is one of these approaches. Little known as it has been recently developed, it solves a variety of exciting questions with real data; some of them, such as the decomposition of the signal into components and their multiple uses, are of general application, others are specific. Among … Show more

“…Another anomalies, related to insufficient blood supply to heart, cause of myocardial infarction and angina pectoris, or another more specific ones, will not be discussed here ( [111]). Also, several strategies, methods, and techniques have been designed and/or applied to deal with this kind of signals, being applied in many disciplines ( [130], [121], [1], [21], [83], [60], [10], [141], [129], [109], and references therein). Actually, HSA-based methodologies have also been applied to the study of ECG signals ( [90], [88], [82], [134], [113], [74], [73]; see also [138]).…”
