Abstract:Abstract. I review our current understanding of the evolution of stars which experience carbon burning under conditions of partial electron degeneracy and ultimately become thermally pulsing "super" asymptotic giant branch (SAGB) stars with electron-degenerate cores composed primarily of oxygen and neon.
